Wycombe Abbey Shortlisted for Independent Schools of the Year DEIJ Award

Wycombe Abbey is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026 for Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ).

The recognition reflects the School’s commitment to creating a community where every individual feels seen, valued and connected. At Wycombe Abbey, DEIJ is embedded throughout daily school life, with staff and pupil committees working together to shape initiatives across pastoral care, boarding, co-curricular activities and communications.

The School’s approach combines pupil voice, evidence-led evaluation and inclusive leadership. Initiatives such as Global Celebration Week, the pupil-led Identity Society, Staff Spotlights and dedicated staff wellbeing programmes help ensure that inclusion is both visible and meaningful across the community.

The judges also recognised the impact of opportunities that broaden cultural understanding, including international exchange programmes and a wide range of activities that celebrate diversity and foster belonging.

This shortlisting is a testament to the collective efforts of pupils and staff in building an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
