Providing world class education globally

Wycombe Abbey International (WAI) was established in 2015, as the international arm of Wycombe Abbey and has successfully managed international schools through a series of strategic partnerships with school operators. These partnerships are based on collaboration agreements, which define a series of rights and obligations for both parties to ensure the schools are developed and operated at the required quality standard for WAI.

All our international schools share the same vision as Wycombe Abbey in the UK, to be recognised globally as world class schools. Our schools will provide an outstanding, holistic education with a particular focus on academic excellence and enable our leavers to go on to the best universities in the world. Our pupils are also developed through a rich and varied co-curricular programme which helps them become future-focused leaders who will make a positive difference in the world.

We monitor the quality, standards and successes at our international schools through engagement with the Wycombe Abbey International board. This includes regular visits to our international schools, supported by Wycombe Abbey UK, to review school operations, teaching, safeguarding and governance of the school. Furthermore, we provide professional training to key staff and support with key policies and procedures which need to be implemented at each international school. Our schools are required to secure and maintain COBIS accreditation, where relevant, as part of our external quality assurance procedure.

Within our global family of schools, there are opportunities for teachers and pupils to collaborate on international projects. This enables our staff to understand different educational settings and share best practices amongst their peers. Pupils will also be able to participate in collaborative projects and competitions and develop further their global perspectives through interaction with fellow pupils in other countries.

WAI has worked in partnership with British Education Limited (BE) in Greater China since 2016. Our partnership with BE has launched four international schools in Greater China; Changzhou, Hong Kong, Hangzhou and Nanjing. Details of these schools can be found below. WAI has also recently established a strategic partnership with the WMC Educational Foundation in Egypt, who have also partnered with ACUD, the corporation responsible for developing Egypt’s New Capital City, to establish schools across the Middle East and North Africa region. The first school, Wycombe Abbey International Cairo East will open in September 2024.
