Wycombe Abbey Pupils Celebrate Admission to top US Colleges

Wycombe Abbey girls sat around a laptop discussing work

We are proud to celebrate our best ever outcomes in the early cycle of US admissions. Offers have been received from:

·  California Institute of Technology
·  Columbia University
·  Cornell University
·  Dartmouth College
·  Duke University
·  New York University
·  Princeton University
·  Tufts University x2
·  Vassar College

Such an impressive list is testament to the hard work and commitment of the pupils. American and International Universities Counsellor, Mr Ed Tourle, said, “Early reports are that it was yet another year of increased competition and it is fantastic that the pupils’ efforts have been recognised in this way. We have been working hard to build effective relationships with a range of US universities, something that takes consistent effort and is beginning to embed. It has been a pleasure working with pupils, guiding them through what is a complex and demanding process, but especially in helping each of them to articulate their personal and special narrative to admissions officers. We still have pending applications for 13 applicants in the Regular Decision cycle and we are hopeful for another set of great outcomes for those girls.”

Director of Sixth Form, Dr Neal Carrier, said, “Massive congratulations to these girls. Against the context of a very tough early cycle, these offers are vindication of their colossal efforts and of the exceptional quality of their applications. Thanks, also, must go to Mr Tourle and Mrs Stubbs, whose expertise and close work with all relevant stakeholders has paid dividends.”

We look forward to celebrating further successes in the regular cycle.
