Shakespeare Schools Festival 2025
19 November 2025 - All

Over the past few months, pupils from LV have been rehearsing and preparing a ‘Comedy of Errors’ as part of the Coram Shakespeare for Schools Festival. It has been a wonderful experience filled with unforgettable moments, amazing audiences and plenty of fun.

Charlotte shares more about the experience below:
‘On 4 November, the cast of ‘Comedy of Errors’ and I travelled to Rickmansworth to perform with other schools at Watersmeet Theatre. We were incredibly excited and even spent the journey practising our lines!
When we arrived, we quickly changed into costume and completed a tech run before presenting our piece for the group from Beaconsfield High. Afterwards, we watched their show and exchanged congratulations on our spectacular shows, impressed by each other’s work.

Later, we met the group from John Colet for dinner. Both groups were incredibly kind and supportive, and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them. That evening, we finally brought our ‘Comedy of Errors’ to the stage for a live audience and watched the other groups showcase their productions before returning to school, tired but proud of what we had achieved.
A few days later, on 7 November, we left school in the morning to share our work with Cressex Community School. Our show was incredibly well received, and the audience really enjoyed it.

Our final appearance took place here at Wycombe Abbey. Even though we were sad to perform it for the last time, we gave it our all and had a very fun and enjoyable show.
Overall, we had an amazing time rehearsing and staging the ‘Comedy of Errors,’ meeting lots of new people from different schools, growing as performers and creating memories we won’t forget.

We are extremely grateful to Mrs Maddison and Ms Dare who organised everything and directed us, Mr Grace for the impressive tech and lighting, Mrs Lansley-Davies for the fantastic costumes and Mrs Fisher who accompanied us and supported us along the way. We would recommend Shakespeare for Schools to anyone who is considering it, as it was such a thrilling experience.’

This festival is a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to immerse themselves in the world of theatre, collaborate with peers from other schools and develop confidence and creativity. We are so proud of the dedication and talent shown by LV throughout this journey, and look forward to seeing how these experiences continue to inspire their love for performance and literature.
