Hubbub 5 Year Event

Phoebe, an Upper Sixth form pupil at Wycombe Abbey, was recently asked to be on the panel of speakers at the Hubbub 5 Year Event, celebrating five years of initiatives to tackle food waste across the UK. Industry experts from Marks and Spencer’s, VICE, and a range of environmental charities were present. After an introductory talk in the Screening Room at Somerset House in London,  a panel discussion took place focusing on reducing food waste and how we can be more sustainable. The panel took questions on the recent climate change protests, views on cutting single-use plastic waste, and how education can be a valuable tool in tackling challenges to sustainability. After the event there was an opportunity to network with the audience, comprising of a range of business owners and specialists in sustainability. Phoebe spoke passionately about these issues, offering well thought out solutions – she was very inspiring and we are immensely proud of her achievement.
