Fundraising for Friends of SOLA (UK)

We are very pleased to congratulate Wycombe Abbey alumna Florence Copp for her extraordinary success raising money for Friends of SOLA (UK).

Florence recently returned from China where she completed a sponsored walk along the most challenging parts of the Great Wall. Earlier on in the year, she also hosted a quiz evening at Wycombe Abbey which was attended by pupils and staff.

Her current total raised is an impressive £4,392 and the money will support the work of Afghanistan’s first boarding school for girls, the School of Leadership Afghanistan (SOLA). Florence was inspired to support the charity after hearing the school’s founder Shabana Basij-Rasikh speak at Wycombe Abbey.

Wycombe Abbey and SOLA have developed a close relationship over the past couple of years and girls from both schools speak regularly via weekly Skype sessions to discuss issues such as education and gender equality.
