First Batch of Honey

This term, the Bee Society has been enjoying its first batch of honey which has been awarded first place in the beginners’ class at the Bucks County Honey Show.

The society was launched last September and the group of girls involved are responsible for the care of five hives at the School’s on-site apiary. Mrs Jones, Director of Science and STEM, started the initiative and has overseen the growth of the project. The girls helped to construct the frames for the supers and regularly visit the hives to check the condition of the bees and their comb. The Bee Society is currently run by the Chairmen, Aia and Steph, UVI.
