Exceptional University Offers
11 February 2026 - All

We are delighted to share an outstanding year of Oxbridge success at Wycombe Abbey, with one in four of our current Upper Sixth pupils receiving offers from Oxford or Cambridge. In total, Wycombe Abbey Upper Sixth pupils have received 14 offers from Oxford and six from Cambridge, reflecting both academic excellence and impressive intellectual breadth across a remarkable range of subjects. Pupils have secured places in Medicine and Mathematics at both universities, alongside two offers for PPE and Materials Science at Oxford, and two places to read Classics at Cambridge. We are also proud to see offers spanning Law, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Physics and Philosophy, Philosophy and Linguistics, French and German, English, Theology, and Geography, as well as our first-ever offer for Assyriology. In addition, we are pleased to recognise the continued success of two pupils who left last year, who have received offers to study English at Oxford and Human, Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge, bringing the total number of Oxbridge offers to 22.
This success represents the culmination of an extensive process including our bespoke weekly University Preparation lessons throughout the Lower Sixth and start of Upper Sixth year, expert advice on personal statement writing and extensive support with admissions test and interview preparation.
Beyond Oxbridge, the breadth and depth of success across the year group receiving early offers from UK universities has been equally striking. To date, pupils have received over 200 university offers, including from a wide range of highly competitive institutions: 23 from Durham, 22 from University College London, 19 from King’s College London, 18 from Exeter, 17 from Edinburgh, 10 each from Bath and Warwick, 8 from St Andrews, and 4 from Imperial College London. With many applications still under consideration, as universities have until 13 May to send their decisions, we look forward to sharing further positive outcomes in the weeks ahead.
We have been delighted to hear from many of last year’s leavers who have now begun their undergraduate studies at universities across the world. We look forward to welcoming some of them back in May to speak with our Lower Sixth during Future Ready Days to give them an insight into what their university experience so far has really been like and to pass on their top tips!
While these results are certainly worthy of celebration, we are just as proud of the way in which the Upper Sixth have approached this demanding period. They have shown integrity, generosity and kindness, supporting one another through both success and disappointment. This spirit of mutual encouragement and resilience truly reflects the very best of Wycombe Abbey.
