Wycombe Abbey Recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School

Wycombe Abbey is delighted to announce that it has been recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School for 2025–26, a proud milestone in our digital learning development.

The School embarked on this journey in September 2023 by applying for Incubator School status, demonstrating a clear commitment to embedding Microsoft technologies across teaching and learning. During the 2023–24 academic year, a comprehensive three-year digital strategy was established, beginning in September 2024 and running through to August 2027.

This strategy was designed not only to meet the criteria for Showcase School status, but also to set out a long-term vision for digital innovation at Wycombe Abbey. A key element of this work included the development of policy on artificial intelligence, with particular attention to the responsible integration of Microsoft Copilot.

The following year saw a deliberate focus on achieving Showcase recognition. This involved the introduction of a digital accessibility strategy to ensure technology benefits every learner, alongside the development of a digital skills programme for the Lower School, structured around eight  principles.

Wycombe Abbey has a well-established one-to-one device scheme, ensuring every pupil has  a Windows-based machine. This provision allows technology to be fully embedded across the curriculum, supporting collaboration, creativity, and enriched learning experiences. Staff development has been central to this progress, with colleagues across a range of departments achieving recognition as Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts (MIEEs).

Regular pupil and staff surveys also play a vital role in shaping our approach. The data generated informs decision-making, drives progress, and ensures that our digital strategy continues to evolve in response to the needs of the School community.

Becoming a Microsoft Showcase School places Wycombe Abbey within a global community of forward-thinking schools recognised for their innovation, vision, and excellence in digital learning. It also provides exclusive opportunities for collaboration and professional growth, enabling staff to exchange expertise and best practice globally.

Most importantly, it strengthens our culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the pupils of Wycombe Abbey are equipped with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.
