The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a unique closed-road race through the heart of the capital, taking in both the City of London and the City of Westminster. Unlike your average half marathon, this event offers runners the chance to pass iconic landmarks, uncover hidden gems, and experience the rich history and character of London at every turn.

For UVI pupil Milly, this year’s race marked a special milestone: her very first half marathon. Read on to find out how she got on and what made the day so memorable!

On Sunday 6th April 2025 I took part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Samaritans. I had never run further than 6 miles before training for this event so the idea of 13.1 miles was quite daunting! The weather was gorgeous, and although this made it warmer than I was used to running in, I managed to complete the race in two hours 11 minutes and 30 seconds, raising an incredible £2302 for a very important cause. I’m so grateful to everyone who donated and am already looking for the next challenge to take part in!
