Science Live!

On Friday 19 January girls in LIV were very excited to attend Science Live! in Oxford. The event was part of a series aimed at GCSE science pupils to increase our enthusiasm for science subjects.

The day was filled with a variety of interesting speakers including Professor Robert Winston and Professor Alice Roberts. We enjoyed a compelling lecture on how to predict the future using computer science and data. The other presentations included a fascinating talk on reproductive biology, an inspirational space scientist and a clinical anatomist who opened our minds to human evolution. There were also some enthralling demonstrations of the chemical process of ice and water.

The speakers were amazing at sharing their enthusiasm for their subject with us and delivered a number of eye opening talks. Overall it was an extremely enjoyable experience and we were thoroughly entertained and learnt lots of interesting things. The tips on preparing for our GCSEs will certainly help us next year.
