Lucia’s Turin 10k for Mind
14 May 2025 - All

On Saturday 13th April, my dad, brother and I ran the Turin 10k in support of Mind, a charity very close to our hearts, helping people of all ages facing eating disorders and mental health struggles.
Race day started with a very early wake-up call and a carb-loaded breakfast. The nerves really kicked in once we reached the start line and the adrenaline was sky high. We lined up in our gate and anxiously waited for the gun to go off.

Once the race began, it became a real mental battle. At 3km, I genuinely thought I was going to collapse and never make it to the end. But I pushed through, reminding myself how amazing it would feel to cross the finish line. We kept a steady pace until about 5km, when we decided to speed up. Somehow, the final 2km were the easiest I’ve ever done, the cheers and noise from the crowd kept me going!
Overall, it was a surreal experience and sharing it with my family made it even more special. We are so proud to have raised just under £2200 for Mind. Thank you to everyone who supported me with kind words and generous donations!
