Last week, in celebration of National Poetry Day 2025, our Poet Laureate, Eden (UVI), unveiled a poignant and beautifully written poem titled Immortal Words. The piece explores the enduring power of language and its ability to transcend time, evoke memory and preserve meaning across generations.

To honour this theme and our school’s rich heritage, we’ve created a unique visual and poetic tribute. Lines from Eden’s poem have been paired with archival photographs of the school, thoughtfully contrasted with present-day images of the same locations. This creative dialogue between past and present invites us to reflect on how spaces hold memory, and how words, like the buildings that surround us, can echo through time.

Together, the poem and images serve as a reminder that history is not just something we study, but something we live within. They highlight the timeless lessons embedded in our surroundings and the importance of preserving the stories that shape us.

Thank you very much Eden for letting us share this wonderful poem!
