Back in Time: UIII Present ‘Victorian World’
9 June 2025 - All

This term, UIII have been hard at work putting together an unforgettable production: Victorian World, a hysterical, lively play written by our very own Head of Drama, Mr Harrington. Our story starts here at Wycombe Abbey. What begins as an ordinary School day soon turns into a nerve-racking, wild adventure back in time. It all begins with a mysterious typewriter…
The day before a School trip to a historical museum, a group of pupils happen to find a typewriter that transports them back to the Victorian Era! There’s only one way to get back: complete a series of fun drama challenges and weird, whacky history tasks. From discovering historical breakthroughs such as the telephone to performing musical numbers, the girls must sing, dance and act their way through the Victorian Era.
One of my favourite moments of the play was our fabulous rendition of Kate Bush’s, Wuthering Heights, this dance took a lot of work and rehearsals! Another highlight of the show was Arnold, the dog who played Sammy. The audience loved him and he brought lots of laughter and excitement to the stage!
Despite initial nerves, our first night of the production was a huge success and gave us confidence for night two, which was even better! We are all so proud of how well the show turned out.
We would like to thank the Drama Department for their hard work, encouragement and creative ideas. The play would not have been possible without all your guidance.
Victorian World was packed with comedy, surprises and silliness. We hope that you enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed creating it. It was an experience we will never forget!
