Anti-Bullying Week 2025.
17 November 2025 - All

Last week, we celebrated Anti-Bullying Week, an annual event promoting awareness, kindness, and a commitment to making our school a safe, welcoming place for all. This year’s theme, ‘Power for Good’ reminded us how positive actions can make a big difference
We began with Odd Socks Day, where pupils and staff found their most colourful and mismatched socks. This simple but powerful initiative reminded us that it’s okay to be different and that our individuality is something to be celebrated.

Through assemblies and tutor time activities, pupils explored the impact of their words on others. They discussed intention versus perception and reflected on how power can be used positively or negatively. Importantly, they learned how to channel their influence in challenging situations and were reminded that they always have the power to be upstanders, calling out poor behaviour and supporting those around them.
During one break-time, members of the Wycombe Abbey community gathered in Courtyard Café to make their Power for Good pledges. Staff and pupils committed to actions they would take during Anti-Bullying Week and beyond, to contribute to a culture of kindness and inclusion. These pledges are now proudly displayed in the Wellbeing Corridor. A big thank you to our Wellbeing Officers for leading this initiative.

Midweek, we held an open Feedback Drop-In. This safe and supportive space gave pupils the chance to share ideas on how we can strengthen our anti-bullying efforts, as well as voice any concerns about our school community. These valuable insights will help guide our ongoing work to ensure everyone feels respected and included.
Throughout the week, pupils took part in our exciting competition: ‘£1 Million to Stop Bullying – What’s Your Plan?’. The challenge was simple yet thought-provoking, how would you use £1,000,000 to stop bullying and create a kinder world? Congratulations to Freya (UIV) and Ella-Rose (UIV) for their winning idea: KindMind, an innovative app designed to tackle online bullying. Their concept focuses on promoting kindness and awareness through technology.
Here’s how they described it:
‘With our one million, we decided to create an app called KindMind. It can be downloaded on any device and detects harmful keywords, such as ‘ugly’, that could lead to bullying. When triggered, the app sends an alert to make you pause and think before posting. It also provides daily notifications about kindness and anti-bullying, reminding users they are not alone and are loved. Our app aims to reduce both cyberbullying and physical bullying by encouraging positive behaviour. With 95% of teens owning a smartphone, widespread use of KindMind could make a real difference.’
What an inspiring idea, well done to Freya and Ella-Rose!

Anti-Bullying Week reminded us that change starts with small actions. Each activity helped us reflect on the importance of kindness and the role every one of us plays in shaping a safe, supportive school environment. Thank you to everyone who took part and had a role to play in our celebrations this week.
