A New Chapter for Pitt and Butler: Introducing Our New Housemistresses
9 September 2025 - All

At Wycombe Abbey, each boarding house is led by a Housemistress, who plays a central role in the pastoral life of the School, providing guidance, support and care for the girls in her House. She is responsible for creating a nurturing and secure environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally, while also fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. As a key figure in each girl’s School journey, the Housemistress works closely with parents, staff and tutors to ensure the wellbeing and development of every individual, helping them to grow in confidence, independence and responsibility.
This term, we have welcomed two new Housemistresses, Victoria Biddle, Housemistress of Pitt, and Kathryn Millar, Housemistress of Butler. Both are excited to begin this new chapter, and we invite you to get to know them below.
Victoria Biddle

I was initially drawn to Wycombe Abbey as I am a strong supporter of the benefits of girls’ education and boarding. The School’s warm welcome, together with the family feel within the Houses, with mixed dorms and the family tree system, made me feel immediately at home.
Looking ahead, I am excited to experience all that Wycombe Abbey has to offer, specifically our House Dinner, Christmas Carol Practice and the raft race on Dove Day. Most importantly, I am looking forward to getting to know all the girls and their families.
With the new 2025–2030 Strategic Direction in mind, I am looking forward to focusing on community and culture, celebrating the diversity of our pupils and recognising the role that each girl plays in contributing to Pitt House.
As a mum to two young daughters, most of my time outside School is spent with my family, usually at soft play, farm parks and ballet lessons! I also enjoy travelling, reading and swimming.
I hope that every girl leaves Pitt House with friends for life and feels that they have made the most of every opportunity available to them. I hope they value the importance of kindness and are passionate about excelling in their chosen field.
Kathryn Millar

What first attracted me to Wycombe Abbey was its excellent reputation combined with the warmth and sense of welcome that characterise the School community. I am especially looking forward to life in House, getting to know all the girls, spending time together and celebrating their achievements.
The launch of the 2025–2030 Strategic Direction is an exciting moment, and I am eager to contribute to its vision by helping every girl to flourish and become the best version of herself.
Beyond School, I enjoy playing the piano, keeping active through tennis, and challenging myself with crosswords.
Above all, my hope is that every Butler girl will leave Wycombe Abbey with lifelong friendships, secure in the knowledge that they have been truly known, valued and supported throughout their time here.
