Greenpower 2024-2025
16 May 2025 - All

At Wycombe Abbey, we aim to inspire young women to explore engineering and motorsport through the Wycombe Abbey Greenpower team. Our dedicated team has been hard at work developing and refining our two cars: Sprocket Rocket and Phoenix. See below to read Shelley’s (LVI) roundup of this year’s highlights.
International Finals ’24!
As always, the year started off strong, we qualified for the International Finals 2024! It was amazing to be able to meet some of the teams coming from all over Europe to Goodwood circuit for the event. Both cars raced in F24+, with Sprocket Rocket also racing in two other F24 endurance races. Very impressive lap times were achieved across the races. The day was a wonderful and adrenaline-packed event and qualifying to race in the finals was a fantastic opportunity. Many thanks to Mr Haughton and Mrs James for supporting the team throughout the day.

Practice Laps at Daws Hill
Societies Sunday saw many up-and-coming Greenpower drivers taking numerous practice laps up on Daws Hill. The frosty cold and snow certainly gave the cars some trouble that day, but Phoenix and Sprocket Rocket continued to power on, and girls had a lot of fun practising, nonetheless.
New Car in the Works!
Alongside all the racing and driving excitement throughout the year, a powerful new car is underway. Greenpower’s third car, following Phoenix and Sprocket Rocket, will be even faster, with improvements so far including an extraordinarily lighter aluminium frame. With this car in the works, Greenpower’s performance in future races is sure to improve even more.
