Wycombe Abbey’s Success on the Slopes

Wycombe Abbey’s A team were thrilled to achieve second place at the British Schoolgirls’ Races in Flaine, France last week after an outstanding four days of skiing.

The girls flew to Flaine at the beginning of Short Leave, where they competed against other schools in the annual British Schoolgirls’ Ski Racing Competition.

After success in a number of challenges – including the unregistered Giant and Parallel Slalom events – the A team girls came second overall in the unregistered category. 

Other highlights included Félicité, Upper IV, coming third in the Under 14 Slalom, Maddie, LV, coming second in the Under 16 Slalom and Lydia, LV, coming second in the Under 16 Overall category.

Director of Sport, Louisa Taylor, said, “The girls showed great determination often in the face of adversity. They had great team spirit throughout, which many of the parents who attended commented on fondly.

“After four days of intense training and competition, the girls are in good spirits from taking part in such a fantastic event.”
