Wycombe Abbey to be a Microsoft Showcase School
11 February 2025 - All

Wycombe Abbey is on an exciting path to becoming a Microsoft Showcase School this year, a prestigious recognition awarded to institutions demonstrating innovative digital learning and leadership. Currently holding Microsoft Incubator School status, the School has already made significant strides in developing digital learning and integrating digital tools.
With a clear vision for the future, we launched a future-focused digital strategy in 2024, set to run until 2027. This strategy is underpinned by a commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance teaching and learning while ensuring both staff and pupils develop the necessary skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.
A key part of this journey has been our proactive approach to artificial intelligence (AI). Recognising the transformative potential of AI in education, we have established a comprehensive AI user agreement and policy for staff, ensuring responsible and ethical use. In addition, a dedicated digital platform has been developed, providing staff with easy access to high-quality resources.

Further demonstrating our commitment to digital excellence, we are developing a future-focused digital skills programme to equip our pupils with essential competencies for the future. The award-winning Sixth Form enrichment scheme, the Carrington Programme, now includes an AI ethics unit and is designed to encourage pupils to critically engage with the ethical considerations of emerging technologies as they prepare to enter an AI-assisted workspace.
Wycombe Abbey’s approach to digital transformation is data-driven, with staff and pupil surveys informing decision-making and ensuring that changes align with the needs of the school community.
Achieving Microsoft Showcase School status will place our school among the world’s leading institutions in educational technology, affirming its commitment to innovation, digital literacy, and forward-thinking pedagogy. The journey is well underway, and the future looks bright!
