Wycombe Abbey Law Society: A Talk on the Family Law Bar

On 6 October, the Wycombe Abbey Law Society welcomed Rebecca Carew Pole KC for a dinner and talk about her distinguished career as a leading silk in the field of family law and matrimonial finance. Mrs Carew Pole began by setting out the role and responsibilities of a barrister and the attributes required to succeed in the profession.
Following this, she provided an engaging overview of family law and complexities of matrimonial finance such as the valuation and division of assets as well as the drafting and enforcement of pre-nuptial agreements. When reflecting on her career, Rebecca shared examples from her previous cases which gave us a fascinating insight into the practical application of the law and the challenges involved in achieving fair outcomes for clients. Overall, it was an incredibly inspiring talk, and we are very grateful to Mrs Carew Pole for visiting.
