Wycombe Abbey at BISMUN 2026

Wycombe Abbey pupils enjoyed an exceptionally successful and enriching weekend at the annual Bath International Schools Model United Nations (BISMUN) Conference, hosted by Kingswood School from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 March. The conference brought together young diplomats from schools across the country for three days of rigorous debate.

Across the many committees, our delegates engaged thoughtfully with a wide range of global issues. A particular highlight this year was the Historic Committee, always a favourite among participants. This year’s brief transported delegates to the complexities of the Libyan Civil War, challenging them to analyse real historical decisions, consider competing political interests and propose alternative pathways for peace.

Another memorable element of the conference was the General Assembly Emergency Crisis, in which all committees were rapidly convened to respond to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. Delegates were required to negotiate under pressure and deliver rapid yet well‑reasoned responses. This immersive experience gave pupils an invaluable insight into the urgency and complexity of global diplomacy.

Our Wycombe Abbey delegates rose brilliantly to these challenges, and many were recognised for their excellence:

  • Maya (LVI), Commended Delegate in the Security Council
  • Doris (LV), Highly Commended in ECOSOC
  • Antonia (LV), Highly Commended in ECOSOC
  • Vanessa (LVI), Commended Delegate in the Historic Committee
  • Zara (LVI), Commended Delegate in the Political Committee

Beyond the committee rooms, the team also enjoyed a fantastic weekend in Bath, taking full advantage of the opportunities to exchange ideas and broaden their understanding of international affairs.
