University Destinations 2025

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our most recent Clarence leavers, whose exceptional A Level results and university destinations reflect the academic excellence and ambition that define Wycombe Abbey.

This year, one in five pupils received offers from the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge. Over a third of our leavers took up places at institutions ranked within the top ten of the QS World University Rankings.

Within the United Kingdom, our pupils secured places at many of the country’s most prestigious universities, including:

  • 11 to the University of Oxford
  • 6 to the University of Cambridge
  • 7 to Imperial College London
  • 11 to University College London (UCL)
  • 3 to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
  • 7 to the University of Edinburgh

In addition, a number of pupils accepted international offers from world-leading institutions such as Duke University, New York University, the University of Chicago, the University of California, and IE University in Madrid.

These impressive outcomes are a testament to the determination and commitment shown by our pupils throughout their Sixth Form journey. We extend our warmest congratulations to each of them and look forward to following their continued success as they embark upon the next stage of their academic and personal development.

At Wycombe Abbey, preparation for top global universities begins well before Sixth Form. Our University Preparation Programme fosters not only academic excellence but also the intellectual curiosity, interdisciplinary thinking, and independence required to thrive at the world’s leading institutions. Faculty-led enrichment courses such as A Question of Meaning and Scientific Communication lay the foundations for deeper academic exploration, which evolves into focused, department-specific preparation as pupils refine their university choices.

Extensive support is provided for admissions tests and interviews, including a mock-interview exchange with Brighton College. Pupils also benefit from a dedicated Future Ready week exploring university and career pathways, while our interdisciplinary Academic Forum with local schools promotes meaningful collaboration and academic dialogue. Applicants to universities in the United States and beyond receive bespoke one-to-one guidance from our Head of US and International Universities. We also support girls as they explore their future career paths. To find out more about our careers provision please contact our newly appointed  Head of Careers, Laura Manning [email protected]
