Spotlights Dance Show 2026
15 January 2026 - All

Last weekend, the Spotlights Dance Show brought together performers from an impressive range of styles for an evening that celebrated our pupils’ talent and creativity. From the refined precision of ballet to the dynamic rhythms of street dance, the showcase revealed the depth of skill and imagination among our pupils.
The evening was a resounding success and every routine reflected not only technical ability but also the effort and passion poured into weeks of preparation.
Congratulations to all the dancers and staff involved.

Kate (UVI) – Dance Captain and Ballet Captain:
‘After taking part in Spotlights for seven years, choreographing dances for the show was a bittersweet experience to end my Wycombe Abbey dance journey. Performing in Spotlights was one of my most treasured memories at Wycombe Abbey, and seeing all the hard work from months of rehearsals come to life on stage was deeply emotional and unforgettable.’

Sula (LVI) – Modern Captain:
‘Over my four years of taking part in the Spotlights show, I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring different styles of modern — from contemporary to jazz — for its versatility and creative freedom. This year, being able to watch my own piece come together from choosing music initially to choreographing and picking a costume has been such a rewarding experience.’

Marisa (UVI) – Tap Captain:
‘My tap piece is about accepting the past and living in the present. Hazel being the past and myself being the present. Since it is my last year of Wycombe Abbey, I think a lot is changing around me and I wanted to create a piece to remind myself to be present in the moment. I’ve really enjoyed my two years at Wycombe Abbey and with the dance community.’
