Seniors Making a Difference Panellist: Sophie Daud

Sophie Daud (Class of 2009, Cloister, C266) Award-winning CEO of the Future Leaders Network.

Sophie began her career in the UK Government, where she combined her scientific training with problem solving skills to tackle some of the country’s most challenging social policy issues, ranging from long-term unemployment to child poverty. She subsequently discovered her passion for creating the next generation of effective, ethical leaders in the United Kingdom. Her final role was in the Civil Service as Head of Accelerated Development Schemes where she led a team of 20 to deliver leadership training programmes for the UK Government’s highest potential civil servants, with a budget of over £7m.

Sophie took up her full-time role as Chief Executive Officer at the Future Leaders Network in September 2020, ahead of her appointment as Chair of the Youth 7 (Y7) in January 2021. The Y7 is the official youth engagement group for the G7 process and under Sophie’s leadership, the Future Leaders Network engaged over 50,000 young people in the UK’s G7 Presidency in 2021, delivering one of the most inclusive, developmental and impactful youth summits in history. 

Sophie has interviewed two current and former UK Prime Ministers and has chaired panels at COP26 and the World Humanitarian Forum. In 2019, she was named as a Rising Star in the Public Sector by WeAreTheCity and in 2021 she was named as the Most Influential CEO in London by CEOMonthly magazine.
