Pinewood Studio’s Futures Festival 2026
25 February 2026 - All

Every year, Pinewood Studios hosts ‘Futures Festival’, Europe’s largest careers event for the film and television industry. The festival brings together leading professionals from across the sector, offering pupils the chance to hear directly from experts and gain a deeper understanding of the wide range of roles that bring film and television to life.
By exploring these varied pathways and speaking with those working at the heart of the industry, we hope pupils felt inspired to consider new possibilities for their future. At Wycombe Abbey, we are committed to providing meaningful opportunities for all pupils to experience different career fields, helping them make informed and confident decisions. Events like Futures Festival play a vital role in this mission, and we continually seek out enriching experiences that spark curiosity and ambition.

Some pupils who attended the event, shared what they thought of the experience:
Sanvi:
‘Visiting Pinewood Studios’ Film Futures Festival was a truly eye-opening and unique experience. It gave us valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes aspects of filmmaking that you wouldn’t usually get to see. It was a great opportunity to learn about the gradual steps into the industry, as well as the wide range of roles available. My highlights included the immersive experience in the recording studio and the spectacular stunt show. Overall, I had a wonderful time and found the day both inspiring and informative.’

Izzy:
‘The visit to Pinewood Studios has got to be the best day trip I’ve been on at Wycombe. The place was brimming with creativity, passion and talent and it was impossible not to get excited at the Batmans and Storm Troopers walking around everywhere! We went to four different places where we learnt about all elements of the filmmaking process: pre-production, during production, post-production and stunts. It was incredibly eye opening and helpful to chat to and meet people with so much knowledge of the industry and I’m excited to go to similar events in the future!’

Tina:
‘The trip to Pinewood Studios was an opportunity that I am very grateful to have taken. It offered many different sights, and I was presented with many pathways to continue onto within the film industries. Furthermore, we learnt about various processes within films, one of which was an amazing and informative insight into all the effort that goes into sound production. Another highlight was the exhilarating stunt performance we watched, and also listened to the experiences people had to provide. I hope that more people have this opportunity in the future, as it was such a delight to attend.’

Essie:
‘I really enjoyed the trip and I am so glad I went! It was such an amazing experience, and I learnt so much and it was brilliant to be able to talk to real actors, producers and more. The event itself was very interesting, walking around the set there were Chewbaccas, Lightning McQueens and even R2-D2s. We even saw amazing stunts pulled by stunt actors, like driving on motorbikes and fist fighting. Overall, I honestly feel like this trip gave me so many opportunities and opened career doors I didn’t even know existed.’
