Mock Trial IV – The Black Dove Society

A pupil stood in front of a lectern, placed in front of a bookcase, whilst raising her right hand.

On 12 January, Mock Trial IV brought mystery and drama to life as pupils unveiled the secrets of the Black Dove Society, a secret gambling ring accused of manipulating sports results. Graffiti-covered walls and black origami doves set the stage for the trial, which featured compelling witness testimonies and polished arguments from prosecution and defence barristers, Mia (UV), Sissie (LV), Neda (LVI), and Celina (LVI).

A male teacher wearing a grey cap and a silver watch stands behind a lectern, in front if a book shelf. His left hand is scratching his chin as he thinks.

The Jury ultimately acquitted the defendants, Daisy (UIV) and Jemima (UV), redirecting suspicion to Isla (UV), whose revenge-driven motives were revealed during the proceedings.

Mr Reid, wearing his lanyard and glasses, stands behind the lectern, in front of the bookcase, with his right hand raised.

As the first pupil-devised Mock Trial, the event was a testament to teamwork, critical thinking, and theatrical flair. Many thanks to Mr FitzGerald for his guidance, and to Isla for capturing the event through stunning photography.
