Welcoming our Exchange Pupils from Across the World

Alongside welcoming pupils back at the start of term, Wycombe Abbey was delighted to open its doors to a group of exchange pupils joining us from partner schools across the world.

Following our girls’ visits abroad earlier in the academic year, we are pleased to be hosting Alice, Lyla and Elise from St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School in Perth; Angelina, Jhanvi and Tuana from Tara Anglican School for Girls in Sydney; and Charlotte, Elettra and Audrey from Greenwich Academy in Connecticut, USA.

Over the coming month, the nine pupils will immerse themselves in life at Wycombe Abbey, experiencing both boarding and academic life within a British school environment. They have already settled in well, attending lessons, taking part in house activities during the evenings, and enjoying the School’s weekend events. Last week, they visited a number of well-known landmarks across London, Windsor and Oxford on exciting day trips.

Emmy shared what she and her US exchange partner, Charlotte, got up to over the weekend:

‘On Saturday, we enjoyed a trip to Chestertons Polo in the Park with Audrey, Vera’s mum, and my mum. We saw lots of matches and a highlight was definitely watching the London team play. Everyone in the crowd was rooting for them, and crowd’s enthusiasm was amazing. On Sunday my mum and I took Charlotte around central London and even rode the London eye!’

It was a pleasure for our Headmistress, Jo Duncan, to meet with the pupils earlier this week and hear first‑hand about their initial experiences. These exchanges play an important role in strengthening Wycombe Abbey’s global partnerships and fostering meaningful cultural connections across our community.

We would like to thank Claire Leong, Director of Global Links, for coordinating these opportunities, as well as our staff and host families for ensuring such a warm and welcoming start to the exchange programme.
