Career Spotlight: Insights into the Pharmaceutical Industry.
22 December 2025 - All

For our Career Spotlight, last week, we welcomed professionals from the pharmaceutical industry, including Luna Li, Ronke Tullett and Raja Rajaram, to share their experience with their respective careers.
LVI pupil, Tracy, shared her thoughts from the talk:
‘The event began with a talk from Luna Li, a PhD candidate at Oxford researching antibiotic resistance in crops. She shared various roles she has undertaken within the pharmaceutical field, including in lab research and startups. She also spoke about the exciting opportunities she has as a PhD student, including leading her own project and travelling to conferences. Luna inspires others by leading the Oxford University Scientific Society, where she interviews prominent scientists, including a recent Nobel Prize winner.

Luna was followed by Ronke Tullet, an experienced regulatory affairs professional. She has worked with various large corporations to act as an interface between companies and government regulatory agencies across the world. Moreover, she highlighted what she enjoyed most about her career, including the opportunity to work with diverse groups of people. Ronke is also highly committed to increasing diversity in clinical trials and other pharmaceutical settings to ensure quality, safety, and efficacy for all.

Raja Rajaram is the Head of Global Medical Strategy at Seqirus and has previously held senior roles at AstraZeneca and GSK. He outlined his journey from starting his career as a medical graduate specialising in paediatrics before moving into the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, he also highlighted important skills needed to succeed in the industry, including decision-making, communication and understanding the clinical needs of patients.

From the Career Spotlight, we were able to learn about the vast number of opportunities within the industry. The speakers’ passion and commitment to making the world a better place through the pharmaceutical industry were truly inspirational.’
A big thank you to our guests for their engaging talks and to all those who helped make the evening possible.
