Fourth Form Normandy Trip 2025

Pupils stood on the beach looking up at Mont Saint Michel.

Bonjour! We had an amazing time on our four-day trip to Normandy. We took part in loads of  exciting activities, tried new things, and learnt lots of French along the way. It was an incredibly fun experience and a trip we will never forget!

On our first full day in Normandy, we headed to Avranches, a beautiful local town, and were taken around to see lots of places, such as a castle. After the tour, we met up again for a picnic lunch in a stunning park. We then made our way to a camembert farm. There, we got to see how camembert is made using traditional methods and specific round moulds. We also got to pet some newborn calves in the stables. After this, we headed back to La Grand’Ferme and had another delicious dinner. That night, the activity was a scavenger hunt where we got into groups and went around the Ferme, searching for strange and hard-to-find objects in French!

On day three, we visited the stunning UNESCO world heritage site Mont Saint Michel. Once we arrived at the mount, we had a tour of the tiny village surrounding the abbey and then were given an hour of free time to explore this fascinating historical monument. Then we met for lunch, where we were quite quickly bombarded by seagulls!

On our last day in Normandy, we learnt how to make bread using traditional French methods, before tasting our delicious creations at the farewell lunch! We then said au revoir to the staff and thanked them for the amazing stay.

Before heading to the ferry, we stopped at a Galette restaurant, where the food was delicious, and it was the perfect opportunity to sit down and enjoy one last meal in France with everyone together.

Finally, we got on the coach and then to the overnight ferry, which was a new experience and exciting way to end our trip. It was a trip we will never forget!
