We require an outstanding and inspirational teacher to work closely with the Director of Sixth Form to oversee and monitor the academic progress and pastoral wellbeing of the Lower and Upper Sixth girls.

This is a residential role in our standalone Upper Sixth boarding house.  The post holder will stay with a year group for the two year journey through the Sixth Form and will therefore alternate with a colleague between the role of Deputy Head of Lower Sixth and Deputy Head of Upper Sixth over a two-year cycle.

Brand new family accommodation is provided all year round.  We have a beautiful site with free board during term time.  Wycombe Abbey has its own salary scale which compares favourably with other independent schools and is well above that of the maintained sector.

Deputy Head of Sixth Form - Applicant Information

The Laboratory Technician will work as part of a team to contribute towards the efficient and smooth running of the Science Department. This role is specifically based within the Biology Department.

Applicants should be flexible, organised, able to work as part of a small team and able to work on own initiative. Relevant experience gained within a laboratory is preferable but not essential. Attention to detail and accurate record keeping are needed along with competent IT skills.

Hours of work: 21.75 hours per week during term time including alternate Saturdays, plus two weeks per annum during School Holidays. Flexibility is required as hours are set at the beginning of each Academic year and will be agreed with the Senior Lab Technician.

Salary: £12,382.71 per annum

Lab Technician - Applicant Information

We are seeking to appoint a hands-on ICT Technician who will play a key role in the ICT Support Team, supporting pupils and staff in this leading girls’ boarding school.  The successful applicant will be a team player with practical skills along with a positive approach, excellent customer service expertise and a can-do attitude. You will have good working knowledge of Microsoft systems, particularly Windows 7/10, Office 365, as well as a broad hands-on knowledge of computer hardware, basic familiarity of networking and a logical approach to problem-solving. A full induction, along with the opportunity to develop your skills with internal and external training courses.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week including every second Saturday morning during term-time. 35 hours per week during Wycombe Abbey school holidays.

Salary: £21,000 – £23,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Other benefits: Lunch provided (term-time), ongoing training opportunities and use of the Sports Centre.

Wycombe Abbey is a full boarding school which provides an outstanding all-round education for girls aged 11 to 18 with an extra-curricular programme running through the school day and into the evening.

We are seeking one or more experienced, committed and versatile piano teachers to join this large and flourishing music department from September 2018. Applicants must be capable of teaching a wide range of abilities from beginner to Grade 8 standard.  Experience of preparing pupils for jazz piano exams is desirable.  There may also be opportunities for a skilled accompanist to undertake ad hoc work within the Music Department.

Application Form for Academic Staff 2018

Wycombe Abbey is seeking to employ an outstanding individual to lead, manage and further develop the ballet department. The new Teacher in Charge of Ballet must be a fully qualified and registered RAD teacher with experience in choreography and non-syllabus classes.  The ability to teach ISTD modern and/or tap would be advantageous but not essential.

The role requires the delivery of both graded and vocational syllabuses and is a full-time post consisting of approx. 30 hours per week. Lessons take place during the school day and in the evening and can be timetabled around teacher availability.  Class sizes are small and the pupils are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a wide range of teaching and learning techniques.

The post is most suited to a flexible and highly motivated candidate with a passion for classical ballet and group choreography. The role may suit an ambitious and driven newly qualified Ballet graduate.
