Wycombe Abbey is Shortlisted for a TES Independent Schools Award for Creativity

Wycombe Abbey shortlisted for TES Award for creativity

Wycombe Abbey is Shortlisted at the TES Independent School Awards 2021 in the Creativity category for our Sixth Form Enrichment Programme: The Carrington Award.

The Carrington Award programme is a pioneering project, the result of a two-year long research process by dedicated staff. The programme is tailored and designed to reflect the particular needs of Wycombe Abbey pupils; their high potential and their global outlook. The programme develops skills across four strands: leadership, responsibility and global thinking; confidence and self-reliance; creativity and vision; and critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. In just two years this programme has been exceedingly well-received by pupils and parents alike.

Headmistress, Jo Duncan said: ‘I am delighted that our Sixth Form Enrichment programme, the Carrington Award, has been shortlisted for the Creativity Award in this year’s TES Independent Schools Awards. We are very proud of this future-focussed programme that aims to enable young women with outstanding potential to develop the aptitudes, skills and knowledge they will need to flourish as a rounded, successful, global citizen.’

The most outstanding institutions that the independent sector has to offer have been recognised in this shortlist for the 2021 TES Independent School Awards and it is an honour that our School has been shortlisted.

TES editor Jon Severs said: ‘After a difficult year for all schools, it is an honour to celebrate the TES Independent School awards, not only to celebrate excellent practice but to ensure that practice is shared far and wide. We received an unparalleled number of entries this year, which is testament to the great work all have done during the pandemic. The schools that have been shortlisted should be proud – it’s a remarkable achievement’.

The winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony on Friday 30 April 2021.
