Wycombe Abbey is a world-renowned independent girls’ boarding school in the heart of High Wycombe.  We are looking to recruit Domestic Assistants to work either full or part-time Monday to Friday throughout the year.

Reporting to the Domestic Services Manager and Domestic Team Leader, the post holder will work as part of a team to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and order is maintained in their designated area.

Hours Option 1: 40 hours per week as below
6am – 2pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £8.33 per hour

Hours Option 2: Saturday mornings
7am – 11am on 27 Saturdays over the course of the School year.
Salary: £8.87 per hour

Wycombe Abbey is a world-renowned independent girls’ boarding school in the heart of High Wycombe.  We are looking to recruit a Cookery Class Cleaner to work flexible hours during term-time to clean the Cookery rooms and support the Teacher’s needs.

Reporting to the Head of Art, the post holder will work to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and order is maintained in the Cookery room. The ideal candidate will be flexible and have the ability to cope with constantly changing menus and equipment from the specialist Cookery lessons. Training will be provided.

The post holder will work 10-12 hours per week, which may be flexible – suggested hours may consist of the below:
Monday: 09.00 – 11.00
Tuesday and Wednesday: 09.00 – 10.00 and 16.00 – 17.00
Thursday: 14.30 – 16.30
Friday 08.00 – 10.00
Saturday or Sunday: There may be an additional 2 hours available either in the morning or the afternoon, depending on activities.

Cookery Class Cleaner - Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the Grounds and Gardens Team at Wycombe Abbey.

The School is situated in the centre of High Wycombe in its own grounds of 160 acres. It is a Conservation Area and is listed in the Register of Parks and Gardens by English Heritage. Whilst most of the grounds are given over to Parkland, Woodland or School Buildings, there are important areas of shrub borders which complement the buildings and grounds.

The Apprentice Groundsperson/Gardener will learn to maintain, upkeep, and improve the School’s grounds and/or gardens, conforming to the highest standards of workmanship and Health & Safety.

The expected duration of the apprenticeship would be 2 years and the successful completion of the training provided will lead to the Level 2 Horticulture Operative qualification.

Applicants must be aged 16 or over with a good general school education.

Hours of work: 7.30am – 3.45pm Monday Friday (with 1-hour unpaid lunch break) plus every third Saturday 7.30am to 11.30am. Day release to attend the horticulture college course at Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) during college term time

Apprentice Groundsperson/Gardener

Wycombe Abbey is a world-renowned independent girls’ boarding school in the heart of High Wycombe.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the Accounts Team. The Apprentice Accounts Administrator will learn how to enter data into the accounting system and prepare monthly billing transactions The apprenticeship includes the opportunity to study for a NVQ in Accounting and/or study for the Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) Level 2 certification which could lead to Level 3 in the following year.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 ‘A’ Levels/BTEC and GCSEs in Maths & English at grade C or above

 

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Day release to attend the relevant college course during college term-time.
