Wycombe Abbey is a full boarding school which provides an outstanding all-round education for girls aged 11 to 18.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and dynamic mathematician to join a thriving department.  We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic and able graduate to teach Mathematics throughout the School.  This post would suit either a Newly Qualified Teacher or an experienced teacher.  Full support and mentoring is given to those new to the profession.  The department comprises of 14 teachers who all teach across the age range.  Mathematics is the most popular A level subject in the School, attracting a large number of girls, with two or three sets taking Further Mathematics A level every year.

Wycombe Abbey has its own salary scale which is well above that of the maintained sector. Rental accommodation may be available.

Applicant Details - Teacher of Geography Maternity Cover

We currently have permanent and maternity cover vacancies for School Nurses (RGN, RN-Child or RM) to join our dedicated Health Centre Team in this prestigious boarding school for girls.

Hours Option 1: 24.5 hours per week (maternity cover)
Working an average of 24.5 hours per week on a flexible rota basis, hours include a minimum of one-night shift per week (11pm – 7am) on a 9-month maternity cover contract. Term-time only.

Hours Option 2: 28 hours per week (permanent)
Working an average of 28 hours per week on a flexible rota basis, hours include a minimum of one-night shift per week (11pm – 7am) on a permanent basis. Term-time only.

The Health Centre plays a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the girls and staff at Wycombe Abbey, and the nurses work particularly closely with boarding staff and parents.

This is an excellent opportunity to consolidate a variety of nursing skills, whilst developing knowledge in managing chronic medical conditions and specific needs of adolescent girls. There is a generous training budget to allow for the professional development of nursing staff.

The ideal candidates will enjoy working with teenagers and will have a positive and flexible approach.  Previous experience in a school role is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given.

School Nurse Maternity Cover - Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Grounds and Gardens, the Lead Gardener will be responsible for the design, implementation, upkeep and maintenance of gardens and flower beds within the school grounds.

The successful applicant will have a dedicated interest and enthusiasm for gardening with a sound knowledge of gardening techniques and methods. City & Guilds Land Based Services (formerly NPTC) qualifications are essential as well as proven ability to design, implement and maintain flower beds. NVQ Level 4 or equivalent and knowledge and understanding of landscaping are desirable.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 07:30 – 15:45 and every third Saturday 07:30 – 11:30. Occasional weekend work will be required to meet demand.

Salary: Dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Job Description - Lead Gardener

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and able applicant to assist the Chaplain in the smooth running of all areas of Chapel life at Wycombe Abbey.

The position is open to lay or ordained people, but perhaps particularly suited to a graduate who has worked in a school, church or Christian organisation and is seeking to be involved in Christian ministry or possibly, in time, is seeking ordination.

A priority of this post is the building of positive and supportive relationships with pupils and staff across the community and a willingness to be fully involved in the life of the school whether that be in the classroom, the sports field and/or co-curricular programmes. In addition to providing excellent pastoral care across the whole school with girls aged 11-18. The post will also involve leading Chapel services, overseeing the Charity work within School and continuing to develop strong relationships with the local community.

The successful candidate must be a committed Christian with some experience of Christian involvement and leadership in Church, schools or other context, and must demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.

Salary: £22,000 – £25,000. Depending on qualifications and experience.

This has the potential to be a residential post with accommodation provided throughout the year.
