We are delighted to announce that Mrs Elizabeth Lee (Senior Laboratory Technician) has been awarded one of a very limited number of 2015 British Science Association CREST teacher recognition awards. This award acknowledges the 122 CREST Discovery, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards that Mrs Lee has overseen during the 2014/2015 academic year.
The CREST scheme is a nationally accredited course which encourages 5 to 19 year olds to engage with projects in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The British Science Association is working hard to increase interest in STEM subjects among young people and is particularly aware of the need for teachers to inspire students to see science as an important part of their day to day lives.
We are most proud of Mrs Lee for her dedication in advising and guiding such a large number of girls through the scheme and hope that many more will be inspired to engage with STEM programmes and events in the future.
