Success at Newnham College’s Engineering Essay Competition

Congratulations to Tatiana, UVI who was awarded first prize for her Engineering entry in Newnham College's annual essay competition.

Tatiana attended a prize-giving ceremony at the College in Cambridge along with a number of other female students from across the country who had won academic awards. The prizes were presented by Professor Dame Carol Black, Principal of Newnham College.

The questions for the essay competition are set each year to encourage ambitious sixth formers to explore university-level themes and independent learning. Winners were selected by a panel of academics from the College.

Other categories for the competition include, Biological Sciences, Philosophy, History and the Radhika Swarup Feminism Prize which is awarded for the essay that best explores the relevance of feminism today.

The questions for the 2017 competition will be announced next month.
