The Headmistress’ Picnic with UIII

UIII Picnic | Wycombe Abbey

On Saturday 12 September, the Upper Threes enjoyed the annual Headmistress’ picnic with Mrs Duncan in the Junior House garden. This year’s ‘Unicorn’ themed picnic was enjoyed in the glorious weather. Everyone had individually bagged picnic lunches, complete with rainbow wraps, and it was lovely to be able to sit out on the grass and eat lunch.

“I loved the Junior House picnic and food’, said one girl, “The wrap was really good and so was everything else. The cafeteria is amazing, I love the scones!”. The picnic was a great way to make friends over the first weekend, Olivia (UIII) commented, “The cupcakes were amazing and I got a chance to bond with my house”.

Everyone, including Mrs Duncan and Miss Crampton, was able to get involved with the unicorn theme by wearing a unicorn headband and joining in a variety of games. Our Junior House Resident Tutors also coordinated a range of themed activities, including ‘Pin the Horn on the Unicorn’ and Giant Jenga.

For our final activity, the Junior House Prefects – Chloe, Charlotte, Alisha and Alice – headed up four groups on a scavenger hunt, which was “a great way to explore the site while being fun and enjoyable” (Amalia, UIII), and allowed everyone to walk up to Daws Hill! It was a great way to spend our first Saturday afternoon in Junior House with lots of fun had by all.
