Over 70 Seniors returned to Wycombe for this year’s Seniors’ Carol Service.
On arrival, they were given the opportunity to view some of the Christmas cakes made by our UIV, before joining current pupils and staff for tea in Big School. During tea Seniors, some of whom left Wycombe over sixty years ago, reminisced about their School days as they chatted with friends and searched for their names in the Roll books.
The Service was as beautiful as ever, with spiritual readings and musical delights from the School Choir, and exceptional Harp solos from Pansy Yue and Saxophone solos from Jinni Watsham. There were also opportunities to join in with the singing with such Christmas favourites as Hark the Herald Angels Sing.
After the Service – and a quick dash from Chapel in the rain – mulled wine and mince pies were served in Fisher Library allowing more time for Seniors to talk further as well as catch up with former members of staff who had also joined us for the event.
It is fantastic to see the Seniors’ Carol Service increasing in size each year and we look forward to seeing many more Seniors back at Wycombe in 2012!
