Sport Essay Competition for Reading Week

During Wycombe Abbey’s Reading Week in December, the PE Department encouraged pupils to read and engage with a variety of different sports and read about them in the news. Stories included professional and amateur sports, the Winter Olympics, the impact of sport on the environment, and female athletes as role models. We then challenged pupils to write a 500-word reflection on one of the articles that they read, or on another one of their choosing.

We are pleased to announce that Neda (UIV) and Maya (LVI) were the overall winners. Well done!

Reading for both pleasure and academic pursuit is central to the Wycombe Abbey community and it is part of our ethos to dedicate a week to the wonders of literature – fiction as well as non-fiction.
