Sunday Times Independent Secondary School of the Year 2010-11
Wycombe Abbey School pupils have achieved outstanding GCSE Level results this year beating the School's all-time record with over 99% candidate entries being award A* or A. The much coveted A* grade was awarded to over 84% of candidate entries. Out of 89 candidates, 48 achieved A*s in 9 or more subjects.
Mrs Cynthia Hall, Headmistress, congratulated the girls and staff on their results. "Everyone has done very well indeed. The academic programme is only one aspect of the education girls receive at Wycombe Abbey. Girls undertake a rich extra-curricular programme involving sport, music, drama, debating and fund-raising for charity among many other activities. The full boarding structure allows the girls to balance their academic studies with other individual interests where they develop wide-ranging skills."
