The welfare of all our pupils is of paramount importance. As the threat of a Swine Flu Pandemic continues, we have been reviewing our arrangements. Our policy, in line with guidance from the NHS, is to encourage personal hygiene and to send home or isolate immediately any member of the community who displays symptoms. For those girls who become ill but, because they live overseas are unable to return home immediately, we have organised a limited amount of accommodation where they may be quarantined in the short term.
If your daughter develops flu like symptoms during Short Leave or Long Leave please do not send her back to school until her symptoms have disappeared.
We will be offering our usual elective programme of vaccination against winter flu, but this will not include protection specific to H1N1. Recent Government guidelines indicate that school children who are particularly vulnerable will be treated differently and we are awaiting more up to date information.
As part of our Emergency Response Plan we have improved our technical capability to offer distance learning to pupils who have to remain at home for a significant period of time.
We will be updating the School community in the light of any changes to Government policy.
Visitors to the School may wish to telephone their contact to check the current situation before visiting.
