HMC ‘Chariots of Fire’ Unicef Run

3 November 2015

Dear Parent and Friend,

I am writing to thank you very much indeed for encouraging and supporting me in the HMC ‘Chariots of Fire' charity run in St Andrews a few weeks ago. Nearly a hundred Heads from the UK's leading independent schools participated in the run on the famous West Sands beach. Enough money was raised to inoculate 750,000 babies against neonatal tetanus. The Unicef Ambassador and world Champion athlete Colin Jackson asked us to send on this thanks.

“Every nine minutes, a new born baby dies from neonatal tetanus. Your efforts to keep children safe from tetanus are inspiring. Thank you on behalf of Unicef UK for your generous support”.

On a personal note, it was a good thing for me to participate. I realised I could still run (albeit very slowly) and I am determined to get fitter!

Thank you again for your generosity.

Best wishes
