Chatterbox Charity Family Tennis Tournament

Despite the threat of heavy rain all week, the Annual Family Charity Tennis Tournament took place without a drop of rain. The slightly colder conditions were much appreciated but did little to cool the sizzling tennis on display all afternoon!

Sixteen pairs battled through their group matches with some hugely entertaining and competitive tennis. Spectators enjoyed their strawberries and cream whilst watching the amazing rallies - most definitely more thrilling than being at Queen's!

The four group winners progressed through to the semi finals where, despite a valiant effort, Tilly and her father lost to last year's finalists Olivia and her father. In the other semi, Kate and her father stormed to an early 3–0 lead. Alya and her father recovered well but narrowly lost 3 – 4.

A gripping final followed with some textbook doubles taking place to the delight of the spectators. Well done to everyone who took part and special congratulation to our 2011 winners, Olivia and her father who beat the Barnacles in a very close and well-fought match.

Thank you to the generosity of everyone who supported Chatterbox throughout the day and we are delighted that over £600 was raised for our whole School charity.
