Congratulations to Charlie and Isabel from Clarence, for their impressive third place in the South of England heats for this challenging competition.
In a strong field of 18 schools and 28 teams, Charlie and Isabel successfully debated the themes of the complications caused in life by modern technologies, and they also grappled with the topical question of immigration.
In the semi-finals they debated the value of modern cinema and also, whether it is advisable to be a European. For this latter section, they had a mere 15 minutes to prepare their arguments.
Congratulations and thanks also to Gabby and Nina, who performed well in the first round.
Debating in a foreign language is a tremendous challenge, and both teams should be very proud of their achievements.
Merci, et félicitations à toutes!
