Namibia Expedition Training

In preparation for our expedition to Namibia, 15 girls went for some training in the Forest of Dean. With miles to walk carrying heavy rucksacks, the trip could have been mistaken for a Duke of Edinburgh expedition - although we were constantly reminded that the bags would be heavier next summer! Under the leadership of our guide Glen, we were taught how to deal with various scenarios that we might experience in Namibia, like what to do if our leader breaks their leg or how to stop our bags from being stolen.

We all felt a definite sense of achievement after climbing the final hill and the training made us all the more excited for our expedition next year - especially as we are all expecting it to be a lot warmer than the Forest of Dean in the middle of winter!
