Wycombe Abbey entered a Junior Novice Team and a Senior Beginner Team into the Schools and Universities Polo Association (SUPA) Autumn Arena Tournament at the West Wycombe Park Arena Polo Club earlier this term.
Melissa, UIV and Tabitha, LV fought hard in their first competition, having only started playing polo in September. With strong defensive play they valiantly fought off the competition, just being pipped in each chukka by their opposition. We look forward to seeing all of our new polo players developing over the coming months.
Diana, LIV, Madeleine, LIV and Georgiana, UIV played very well as a team; with a year of polo under their belts and previous competition experience from Diana and Madeline, they were quietly confident in their ability. Putting all of their training into practice, they communicated well in the arena and helped to set each other up for goals. With all three girls scoring a multitude of goals, they won all four of their chukkas and won the Novice section. We hope that this will be the first win of many this year between our Junior and Senior teams.
We are grateful to Wycombe Abbey's coach JJ Spark at Greenpoint Polo for the continued support and development of our polo teams.
