    Climbing

Our excellent climbing wall gives the school the opportunity to run an extracurricular activity and club which provides training for all levels of climbing.  It is also offered as a popular option during LV-UVI PE lessons.

    Sailing

Girls can sail at Bray Lake during the first half of the autumn term and during the summer term.  This summer two of our sailors competed in the Public Schools Championships at Itchenor.

    Basketball

Basketball is taught as part of the UV PE curriculum.  It is also gaining in popularity as a club held during the evening throughout the autumn and spring terms.  This year Wycombe is hoping to set up a senior team to compete against other local schools.

    Badminton

Badminton is taught as part of the LV PE curriculum.  It is a popular option with many girls also joining the recreational club held once a week in the sports hall.  Wycombe are looking to establish a team to play against local schools.  A practice match versus the staff has proved very successful in past years!

    Polo

Polo is an increasingly popular sport at Wycombe Abbey.  Players of all levels can attend weekly sessions throughout the year either at Binfield Heath Polo Club or West Wycombe Polo Club.  Wycombe Abbey are beginning to participate in more competitions and matches.

    Riding

Riding is available to all girls in UIII-UIV on Saturday afternoons at a local riding school.  The school caters for all abilities from beginners to more experienced riders.

    Golf

Lessons take place during the first half of the autumn term and during the summer term.  For the past 3 years we have entered the Independent Schools Challenge Bowl and we are always looking to expand our golf programme.  Golf is also offered as an option in the PE programme for girls in LV – UVI.

    Judo

Judo is taught once a week in the gym/dance studio.  Beginners are always welcome and a display / taster session usually takes place at the beginning of the autumn term.  Matches take place against other local schools and girls are encouraged to take gradings.

    Karate

Beginners are welcome at Karate sessions which take place weekly in the gym/dance studio.  Girls can take gradings and occasionally have the opportunity to train at the Elkai Karate school in London.

    Trampolining

Trampolining appears as an option in the LV – UVIPE curriculum and is also a popular extracurricular activity.  Coaching occurs both at lunchtimes and after lessons with girls attempting challenging moves with the help of an overhead rig with a twisting and tumbling belt.  There is an annual school competition and recently girls have entered the Wycombe District competition.
