Writer's Ink puts on a wide range of activities to give every student the opportunity to stretch her imagination and hone her writing skills. The programme is designed by three students from the Upper Sixth and aims to support as many different genres as possible. This might involve the advice and encouragement of a published writer, the pleasure of seeing her work in print or entering one of the school's six competitions.
In the Christmas and Easter terms the English Department set the students in the junior years, UIV, LIV and UIII, a considerable challenge: to create a set of vivid characters, a strong sense of place, a compelling situation and to convey and resolve all these in only five hundred words.
