Possibly the most popular society in School! (well -Amnesty might win that one – certainly the most popular in the Sixth Form) A society chiefly for UVI girls – we practice weekly with Eton in the Autumn term, culminating in the glamorous (supremely judging by the girls’ dresses and how gorgeous they look) St Andrew’s Day Ball at Eton and then return the compliment with our own Burns Night Ball in January. By this time everyone is pretty proficient in at least eight different reels and we have a spectacularly formal occasion with haggis piped in to the ‘denner’ and duly ‘addressed’; dance cards full so all dance all evening – and absolutely everyone has enormous fun.
