Sporting Facilities

The Sports Centre was opened in March 2004 by Sir Steve Redgrave and is now a busy and thriving focal point of the school.  Within the Sports Centre there is a 25m 6 lane swimming pool, sports hall, gymnasium / dance studio, fully equipped fitness suite, 4 glass-backed squash court, climbing wall, teaching room, changing rooms, plant rooms, offices and a large cafeteria / social area.

The Centre is used by the girls throughout the day for their curriculum lessons and during the late afternoon and evenings for either extra curricular activities, team practices or recreational use.  Staff also make use of the excellent facilities at various times of the day.  The Centre is used regularly at weekends and a staff membership scheme operates during the holiday periods.  There are a number of outside organisations that use the facilities both during term time and holiday periods, however priority is very much for the pupils of the school and care is taken to uphold this.

The Centre is run by a manager and two assistants who work extremely closely with the Physical Education department to ensure the smooth running of all the facilities.
